Pulane Tshabalala Kingston (South Africa) comments on her experience of collecting contemporary art by African women artists, and to reflect on a selection of artworks presented during the 2021 ICTAF Digital Event.

 

Kingston’s expertise in the private sector covers both legal and management aspects of business, spanning over 25 years. She is a qualified attorney who has practised commercial law and is the Founder and Managing Director of Mirai Rail. Kingston’s love for the visual arts from the continent lead her to focus her contemporary art collection on the works of African women artists whose “voice", she says, "has not been heard as much as it should.”
