Connect Through Art - A Discussion with Carol Bouwer, Githan Coopoo and Queezy

Leading up to Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2022, our theme "Connect through art from Africa and the World" has become even more relevant against the background of the pandemic. This theme was beautifully captured in this discussion with Carol Bouwer, Githan Coopoo and Queezy. The importance of coming together and supporting each other is what makes the Investec Cape Town Art Fair a unique experience.

 

Carol Bouwer (@bouwercarol ) is a South African television presenter, producer, production company owner and designer. Bouwer also serves on the board of trustees at the Norval Foundation, as well as a UNICEF appointed advocate for the arts.

 

Githan Coopoo (@githancoopoo), a jewellery designer, has established a practice that started with a jewelery line of ceramic earrings and accessories, has included collaborations with various major fashion brands in South Africa and, recently he has shifted his practice into more formal sculptural works.

 

Queezy (@queezybabaz ) is a multidisciplinary artist, bridging the intersections of fine art, fashion, and performance. From printmaking and videography to drag performances and DJ sets, QUEEZY creates immersive worlds, where fantasy meets the radical subversion of the status quo.
