At the Cape Town Art Fair this year, a partnership with Lalela Project is taking meaningful shape. Lalela is an educational arts programme for at-risk South African youth to spark creative thinking and awaken entrepreneurial spirit. Lalela has had a longstanding relationship with the V+A Waterfront, and during the Cape Town Art Fair (17-19 February at the CTICC), will be hosting workshops for families with leading educators and artists at the Watershed at the V+A Waterfront. The workshops are free and open to anyone to join. The 40 minutes sessions take place throughout the day with starting times at 10h00, 12h00, 14h00 and 16h00. At the Fair itself, the Lalela Project can be visited in our Cultural Platforms section. Additionally, the Cape Town Art Fair and Lalela are producing Family Guides for visitors. We know talking about Contemporary Art can be difficult. These guides will include background on the fair as well as include prompts that families can use to talk about what they see.
